Inspiration.

After reading Will Campbell's story of how he came to be a bicycle commuter, I feel inspired to start riding my bike more. To the point that along with public transit becomes part of my daily life and routine. Why? Well, because it is a much healthier lifestyle for one. It gets you active, you get to see and experience your surroundings in a much different and personal way that driving or even the bus allow you to. Back in the day when I was younger I would ride more often and longer. I would have the endurance for long treks. Not anymore. I need a healthier me. I need a thinner me. Will it be hard. I'm sure it will. Will it be worth it? Most definitely! I will start slow and build up my endurance and my muscles. If I keep it up in a faithful fashion, I should be fine. If I ever decide to get me a car again, it will be for the most minimal usage possible. Perhaps for park and rides, emergencies and any other situation where biking or public transit is not possible.

Biking has always been one of the things I have always wanted to get more involved with, along with chess. Perhaps later on, I will purchase a good road bike instead of my mountain bike. For the time being, I should be ok with that one.
